How to Use Online Videos and Photos in Your Work

Josh Perez founded Outrun Media Group (OMG) to manage creators and create communities around those creators. OMG uses a team of highly skilled experts to produce content with superior creative to connect organically with customers. However, when he founded OMG, he had several issues finding the proper contracts for the creators he managed. He wanted to build trust with the creators they worked with. He felt contracts could really help build that trust.

They manage in a way that builds community between the clients and the creators. Their secret sauce led to one of their first campaigns reaching millions of people in just a few hours.

“When I get a new client, it’s such a personal thing. When a Creator gets an exclusive deal, usually it is a huge deal for them.” Perez says. He wanted contracts that helped build trust, not destroy it.

Despite finding an entertainment lawyer to help, not being in a major market made it difficult – and creator contracts are simply different that traditional contracts. Perez found some contracts online – through some Reddit threads and gave them to his attorney but still didn’t like the outcome.

“My attorney works in intellectual property. That’s why I sought him out. But he didn’t understand the business or how it worked.” Perez said. I paid him $2000 to revise contract templates I found on Reddit, but it still wasn’t right.

Perez kept searching and found Creators Legal which they now use to manage all the contracts for OMG clients.

“I blew $2,000 with my last lawyer in a contract I didn’t even use. Thankfully, I found Creators Legal soon afterwards.” Perez remarks. “I needed to write the contract in a way that clients would trust us to handle their Social Media content and accounts. With Creators Legal, I could customize the contracts to fit my needs and it certainly helped the budget for a young company. Perez adds. Perez also uses the contracts to make sure all the relationships with the people helping create content are also done right. Whether it’s editors, writers, or social media managers.

Outrun is a different kind of agency, building great relationships and great content.
